St. Francis Medical Center hosts 33rd Annual Golf and Tennis Outing

The St. Francis Medical Center Foundation hosted its 33rd Annual Golf and Tennis Outing on September 28, 2015 at the Trenton Country Club. The St. Francis Medical Center Foundation hosted its 33rd Annual Golf and Tennis Outing on September 28, 2015 at the Trenton Country Club. The Outing had two shotgun starts; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. There were 117 golfers who participated.

The event also featured the “First Annual Tennis Tribute in memory of Dennis M. Nugent M.D.” with 25 tennis players who filled the courts. Dr. Nugent was President of the Medical Staff at St. Francis Medical Center and a highly regarded urologist in the community. Dr. Nugent died suddenly in February of this year. A “Tennis Tribute” in memory of Dennis M. Nugent M.D. was given during the evening program by C. James Romano M.D. SFMC Chief Medical Officer and Denise Nugent.

The other highlight of the event came in the evening with the announcement of the “Moonan Tournament Cup” winner. Those in the winning group were: Doug Peterson, Gary Bertone, Matt O’Connell and George Dowbnia. The trophy cup was ceremoniously presented by last year’s winners, Michael Moonan, Tom Moonan and Matt Moonan in addition to Golf Chairs Brian Bennett and David Rosvold M.D.

More than 175 people were present at the dinner for the award ceremonies and to participate in the “Silent Auction.” The lucky winner of the 50/50 was Joe Agabiti. The winner of the Lexus Golf Trip of a Lifetime to Pebble Beach sponsored by Lexus Champions for Charity was Paul Zukowski.

The Golf and Tennis Outing had a net of $57,000 benefiting the hospital.
