NXTGen-i, a Lego robotics team of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, based in Plainsboro, has been participating in the FLL challenges for the past two years. This year as a part of the challenge, NXTGen-i researched and concluded that ‘Self Esteem’ is a critical factor that contributes to academic success.

The team designed “Self Esteem Booster Trivia,” which has been shared with multiple educational institutions and received positive feedback.

Team members include students from Grover Middle School, Yash Mirg, grade 6; Aadil Makkar, grade 7; Rashi Agrawal, grade 7; and Akshat Adlakha, grade 8. Bharath Jaladi, a student coach, is a student at High School South. Koti Jaladi and Ashok Agrawal are the coaches and Krishna Dwaraganahalli is an adviser.

At its competitions NXTGen-i has received awards including a championship; best robot mission award; and second place research in the NJ State FLL regionals. The team also received honors at the eighth annual Liberty Science Center Engineers Week celebration and was one of the six NJ FLL teams invited to demonstrate robot design and innovative solutions.
