On March 16, children’s author Ame Dyckman visited Slackville Elementary School in Lawrenceville to talk about her books and the writing process.

Dyckman discussed the impact that reading has had on her life and the need for multiple “sloppy copies” or revisions during the writing process. She also talked about where she gets her ideas for stories and just how long it takes to bring them to life.

Dyckman has written four children’s books including: “Tea Party Rules”, “Boy and Bot”, “Wolfie the Bunny” and “Horrible Bear”. She currently lives in Lawrence.
