Local hair artist and B+B Hair Color Studio owner Tim Bricker recently took top honors at Goldwell’s prestigious “Make the Cut,” a nationwide talent search for the best and most seasoned hair designers in the U.S., winning the title of Global Artist. Over 400 stylists throughout the US entered the competition and only 24 were selected.

Goldwell’s commitment to bringing salons state-of-the-art education was the motivation behind the coast-to-coast hunt for a select group of individuals who think creatively, love to educate and train others and, most importantly, love to cut hair. To enter the contest, Bricker was required to submit an extensive portfolio as well as a 20-minute video of him performing a technical precision haircut on a live model. From his initial entry, he was selected as a finalist to audition live at the final stage of the competition at the Goldwell Academy in New York City.

In his new role, Bricker will act as an ambassador for the Goldwell brand, providing training and hands-on education to salon partners– demonstrating new cutting and styling techniques at various venues across the country. As he shares his skills, creativity and enthusiasm with others, he will also be working with some of the best known artists and educators in the world.

Bricker’s classical training began at Vidal Sassoon, and continues presently at the Arrojo Studio’s each and every month. Before turning his focus to hair design, Bricker spent a large part of his career teaching hair color for companies such as Redken, Loreal and Artec, before becoming lead educator for the Spanish colorline Yunsey in the Northeast. Bricker’s work has been highlighted in Inspire Magazine, and the New York Blog, “Style Noted.” He has also appeared on Fox’s “Ambush Makeover” and TLC’s “A Makeover Story.” Bricker is a regular at New York’s Fashion Week, and in 2013, he presented on stage alongside Nick Arrojo at the International Beauty Symposium.
