Koenen announced as chair of Greater Mercer Heart Walk

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recently announced that Christoph Koenen, MD, MBA, head of cardiovascular, U.S. Medical at Bristol-Myers Squibb will serve as chair of the Greater Mercer Heart Walk scheduled for Sunday, September 13 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor.

The Greater Mercer Heart Walk, locally sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb, NJM Insurance Group, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and NRG, brings together annually thousands of families, organizations and businesses from around the Mercer County community for a day of cardiovascular wellness.

As chair of the event, Koenen will manage a volunteer executive leadership team charged with recruiting businesses, community groups and individual walkers while helping raise $425,000 to support the American Heart Association American Stroke Association’s mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. As chair of the event, Koenen is working to change the health of the Greater Mercer County community for the better.

Christoph Koenen leads the U.S. cardiovascular medical organization at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Koenen received his medical degree from Ruprecht-Karls University School of Medicine in Heidelberg Germany. He also holds an MBA from Schiller International University. As a board certified internist and diabetologist, Koenen has conducted research and worked closely in the diabetes field.
