Hopewell Valley Senior Services’ October announcements

Hopewell Valley Senior Services will hold several events during the month of October:

A working group is forming in Hopewell Valley for residents who are interested in aging in place. This month’s topic of discussion will focus on transportation options. The meeting will be held on Oct. 14 at 4:30 p.m at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center, 395 Reading St., Pennington.

Tech-savvy teens will visit the Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library on Oct. 14 from 3 to 4 p.m. to answer questions and deliver demonstrations on how to use laptops, ipads, tablets and other relevant technologies. The event is an effort of Generation Connection, a project that brings high school students and senior citizens together. Registration required by Oct. 10.

Jenny Cowell, Speech Pathologist with Princeton Healthcare System, will present information on swallowing difficulties and what can be done to improve them on Oct. 15. The event is scheduled for 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center. No registration required.

The Hopewell Valley Senior Advisory Board will meet on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center. The meeting, originally scheduled for Oct. 15, is open to the public.
