‘Grace Grows’ author to visit Lawrence library

Author Shelle Sumners and her collaborator Lee Morgan are set to visit the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System.

Sumners is set to discuss her debut novel Grace Grows, 7 p.m. Feb. 11.

In Grace Grows, a textbook editor who takes herself a little too seriously falls for Tyler Wilkie, a singer-songwriter who appears to take nothing seriously.

The novel has a companion soundtrack of songs that are integral to the story, with lyrics that serve as the emotional “voice” of Tyler Wilkie. The songs were written and performed by the author’s husband, singer-songwriter and Broadway actor Lee Morgan.

The couple will be visiting the library to talk about the book and perform some of the songs.
