Princeton resident Harrison Okun was named a finalist in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship competition.

Okun was chosen from among the approximately 16,000 semifinalists named in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

Finalists will be considered for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships to be offered this year. Scholarship winners are set to be announced in four waves, beginning in April and concluding in July.

Okun is currently a freshman at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was accepted after his junior year at Princeton Day School.

Earlier this year, thirteen Princeton Day School students were announced as National Merit Commended Scholars.
