Terhune Orchards set to hold a tree pruning class

Terhune Orchards owner Gary Mount leads a tree pruning class.

Gary Mount, owner of Terhune Orchards, is set to offer a class on pruning fruit trees.

Mount will explain how he prunes trees and demonstrate pruning techniques and equipment that homeowners can use on both standard sized and dwarf apple trees, peach trees and pear trees. He will also be answering questions right out in the orchards.

Additionally, he will discuss new varieties of fruit trees suitable for planting by the homeowner and talk about the differences between various rootstocks.

The class, which is set to be held at 1 p.m. on March 16, will be held rain or shine and is free and open to the public.

Terhune Orchards is located at 330 Cold Soil Road, Princeton.
