The Princeton Chapter of the English Speaking Union is set to present a talk by Adrian Tinniswood about the Rainborowes, a family of settlers in the American colonies who returned to England to fight in the English Civil War.

The talk will cover day-to-day life on both sides of the Atlantic and show how a new culture evolved in the gulf between the Rainborowes’ historic homeland of England and the wilderness of distant Massachusetts.

Tinniswood is a British social historian, writer and lecturer who was recently made a member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the nation.

The program will be held on March 30 at 3 p.m. at Lawrenceville School’s Kirby Arts Center located at 2500 Main Street, Lawrenceville.
