Lawrence Township received two awards from the 2013 Safety Incentive Program.

The awards are sponsored by the Garden State Municipal Joint Insurance Fund.

The Insurance Fund cited Lawrence Township for its “efforts to continually improve the safety of your municipality”.

The township is set to receive the Level A award for $1,000 to be used to supplement its current safety efforts. The township is also receiving the Level B award for $300 to be used for similar purposes.

The awards allow for safety related purchases such as training equipment, safety awards and other purchases that reinforce safety efforts.

The Safety Incentive Program was created by the Insurance Fund to reward the efforts of members who have implemented procedures and programs to reduce the frequency and severity of injuries and incidents.
