Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey is set to hold auditions for its 2014-15 season.

Auditions are scheduled for 5 p.m. June 3 at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, 90 Grovers Mill Road, Plainsboro.

YOCJ consists of over 200 musicians who play in the Woodwind Choir, Wind Symphony, String Preparatory, Pro Arte and Symphonic Orchestras as well as two levels of brass, percussion and saxophone ensembles.

Applicants must take private lessons and be members of their school bands or orchestras. Home-schoolers are invited to audition as well.

Weekly rehearsals are set for Tuesday evenings October through May at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North.

YOCJ’s mission is to provide opportunities for talented young musicians in the central New Jersey area to participate in musical performance at a level beyond that which is traditionally offered by school bands and orchestras.

More information, including advance registration, is online at yocj.org.
