The Christie Administration announced 13 Urban Youth Corps grants that will enable municipal and community organizations to provide employment opportunities to hundreds of young adults as they develop and carry out projects to improve the appearance of urban gateways along or near state highways.

Among the grantees is the Isles Youth Institute in Trenton.

The program, which was revived in 2012 under the Christie Administration, is being administered by the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Civil Rights office and is funded by the Federal Highway Administration.

Each recipient will receive a $32,000 grant to cover stipends, equipment and supplies to carry out their projects.
