September is cat license renewal month for Lawrence Township residents. Any cat more than seven months old is required by law to be licensed. Cat licenses are due by Sept. 30.

Cat licenses are renewed in the Municipal Clerk’s office; applications are also on the township’s website.. Proof of current rabies certification and proof of spaying or neutering must be presented when a license is purchased by mail or in person.

The fee is $11 if spayed or neutered or $14 if not spayed or neutered. Effective Nov. 1, a delinquent fee will be assessed in the amount of $5 plus $1 per month for each month delinquent.

The Lawrence Township Health Department’s free rabies vaccination clinic is open to dogs and cats over the age of three months.

The clinic is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at the National Guard Armory, Eggert Crossing Road, Lawrence Township. Visitors are required to stop at the guard and provide identification. The event will be held rain or shine.
