County program to help with home energy costs

Mercer County is set to provide assistance with home energy costs for those who qualify.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program allows individuals meeting various income qualifications to apply for bill payment assistance, energy crisis assistance and energy-related home repairs.

Information sessions about the LIHEAP and USF Weatherization programs are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 18 at

Mercer County Library Headquarters, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence; and Sept. 26 at Hamilton Township Free Public Library, 1 Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. Way, Hamilton.

Last year’s clients are set to receive a re-certification form within the first week of the heating season, which begins on Oct. 1.
