Maria Vazquez awarded four Trenton Catholic Academy students scholarships in honor of her son. Vazquez’s son 1st Lieutenant Omar Vazquez, a McCorristin Catholic alumni, was killed in Pakistan in 20011. Scholarship applicants wrote essays about how Lt. Vazquez’s life and service to his county inspired them. This year’s recipients are six grader Laura Mondesir, seventh grader Koby Laurent, freshman Denise Ruiz and sophomore Olmar Duarte. Scholarships will be applied to next year’s school tuition.
