September is half way to St. Patrick’s Day and marks the third annual Mercer Irish Fest.

Mercer Irish Fest features nine different bands playing various types of Irish, Gaelic and Celtic music, as well as vendors selling Irish gifts, jewelry, apparel and food.

The festival is scheduled to begin at 12 to 10 p.m. Sept. 7 and 12 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Mercer County Park, 1638 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor. Festival grounds are near the ice rink.

This is a rain or shine event.

Parking is free.

The festival is sponsored by the The Trenton Irish Heritage Association, a non-profit organization founded to promote and preserve Irish culture, traditions, history and values in the greater Trenton Area. The association also sponsors the annual Trenton St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which has been held in the state capitol for 28 years.
