With a new focus on student assessments and continuing review of the high school program of studies, many parents have attended recent board of education meetings to share their questions and concerns. Separate meetings have recently been added to engage parents and educators in more targeted dialogues, and this week WW-P announced that on Tuesday, January 17, at 7:30 p.m. a special meeting with district supervisors for Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages will be held at High School North’s Media Center. The event is sponsored by North’s parent teacher student association.

The meeting is open to parents of students at both high schools. In addition to fielding questions the staff on hand will discuss academic program changes for 2012-’13.

The school district addressed some recent issues by hosting a special meeting on AP and honors course criteria and parental overrides at High School South on December 7.
