On Monday, September 19, the Plainsboro Planning Board approved Integra Life Sciences’ preliminary/final site plan at 109 Morgan Lane. Committee member Ed Yates said he was surprised to review Integra’s application in August and learn that the company currently has 850 employees in Plainsboro.

Township Administrator Robert Sheehan said Integra’s expansion is going to translate to additional jobs and some additional ratables, but because of the company’s tenure in town (since 1989) the news is especially good.

“When it comes to Integra, the story here is this is a firm that started in Plainsboro over 20 years ago with a handful of people — literally just seven or eight — and over time it’s grown here in town. They have increasingly made a contribution to the community and we are pleased to see them continue to grow,” Sheehan said.

Sheehan said that Plainsboro is fortunate to have a number of pharmaceutical, bio/med, and healthcare businesses and institutions in town that are growing or coming, such as the PHCS hospital “and the various things that will come with it.”
