Maingi Named Outstanding Student

University of Oklahoma: Logan Maingi of Plainsboro was recognized as the outstanding senior in the College of Arts and Sciences at a ceremony on November 4. A graduate of High School North, Class of 2008, he is majoring in math and physics and is planning to pursue graduate school after his graduation in the spring.

He has worked at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory in Plainsboro and Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois, He is currently working on his senior research project with physics professor Chung Kao.

Maingi placed in the top 500 on the Putnam exam, a national exam for mathematics undergraduates; took first place in the Oklahoma Arkansas undergraduate math competition; and received a Goldwater Scholarship and many other honors.
