Harmony School in Plainsboro is expected to begin construction of its new facility in the township after the Plainsboro Township Committee accepts performance bonds on Wednesday, October 14.

The Harmony School, located in Forrestal Village, will move to a parcel across Merwick Road, where it intends to build a facility smaller than its existing 12,311-square-foot building. It approval from the Planning Board last December

A major delay for the project has been the clean-up of soil at the site, which Les Varga, Plainsboro director of planning and zoning, said is now complete. “They scraped all the old soil off, put it in an area that was approved by the DEP, and imported clean soil to essentially cap the site with fresh clean soil.”

Harmony seems to be “very close to beginning the construction,” Varga said.

Meanwhile, the Eden Institute, having outgrown its current space in West Windsor, will be moving into the space vacated by Harmony. The planning board granted approval in January for a two-story expansion and a new building on the site.
