High School North Science Olympiad competed in its first-ever national competition with team coaches Holly Crochetiere and James Looney. The team placed ninth in the nation, out of 60 competing teams.##M:[more]##

National tournament medal winners include:

Circuit Lab: Shir Aharon and Mrinalini Basu, third place.

Food Science: Kathy Li and Louisa Ying, fourth place.

Wright Stuff: Gita Gnanadesikan and Greg Doidge, fifth place.

Write It Do it: Lahari Vudayagiri and Landa Maa, sixth place.

Five Star Science: Kathy Li and Priya Marathe, sixth place.

Cell Biology: Moya Chin and Tracie Kong, seventh place.

In addition, High School North alternates competed in five events and received the first place award for Protein Modeling. Team members include Ilya Podkopaev, Alesha Shaik, and Brian Lee.
