Suslak, a junior at High School South, has been volunteering for the community since he was eight years old. He turned his musical talents into a volunteer program to enrich the lives of the seniors at Acorn Glen, Bear Creek, Residence of Forsgate, and Merwick Rehabilitation Center. A volunteer for musical events at school, he also accompanies fellow students for college and audition CDs. His classical instructor is Rita Shklar.

He recently received volunteer service award from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation created in 2003 as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. He also received a certificate of excellence service award from the Prudential Spirit.

This is Suslak’s fourth summer playing for West Windsor Township Recreation Department’s Summer Sounds Concert Series. His concert, to be held at the West Windsor Township Senior Center Gazebo on Wednesday, June 27, at 7 p.m., features classical, show tunes, and classic rock.
