Andrew Werth of West Windsor has two art exhibits opening in April. His upcoming solo show, “Embodiment,” opens at Educational Testing Service on Thursday, April 12. His painting, “Journey,” is part of “Art in Bloom” opening on Friday, April 13, at Gallery 125 in Trenton.##M:[more]##
Werth says the paintings in “Embodiment” are “reminiscent of the maze drawings” he made as a child. “This technique allows for a visually exciting exploration of color and perception which I hope will repay the viewer upon repeated and extended viewing,” he writes on his website, www.andrewwerth.com.
Born in New York City, Werth studied art at the School of Visual Arts, Art Students League, and the New School. Werth’s works have been in group exhibitions in Trenton, West Windsor, Summit, and New York City.
He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering in 1991 and received a master’s in information networking the following year. After a first career as s software developer and manager of technology at a telecommunication company and an Internet startup, he is pursuing his interests in philosophy and abstract art.
“I hope to create paintings where the viewer will want to keep looking, for near and afar, in different lights, always finding something new to stimulate the eye and the mind,” he says.
