The West Windsor Township council approved a new agreement with CWA local 1032, the union that represents multiple blue and white collar township employees, such as the records clerks and typists, the building inspector, and landscape architect.

Although the process in the past has been bitter and difficult, this contract renewal was amicable on both sides. All CWA employees will receive a 3.5 percent increase for the current year, retroactive to January 1. They will get a 3.5 percent increase on January 1, 2007, and another 3.5 percent bump for 2008.

In June 30 of 2008, all employees who have been with the township at least six months will receive a 1.5 percent raise.

A bonus of $250 is available to all Department of Public Works employees who obtain a class A license. Longevity bonuses are available to all union members, beginning with $1,011 annually for those who have been with township for five years, increasing incrementally to over $3,000 for those employed at least 25 years.
