WW Okays Funding Measures

West Windsor Council on August 1 approved a $1.8 million capital improvement ordinance and an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $2.8 million in municipal bonds.##M:[more]##

The capital ordinance includes funding for a $200,”000 skate park at West Windsor Community Park. The project, which came in as a top request in a recent survey of township residents on how to improve the recreation commission’s offerings, will be funded through the commission’s trust fund.

According to officials, a potential location for the park is across the parking lot from the WaterWorks swimming pool. A preliminary design completed in 2004 depicted a 22,”500-square-foot park, with ramps, a quarter-pipe, a half-pipe, and grind rails.

The bond ordinance authorizes the appropriation of $3.2 million, and the issuance of $2.8 in municipal bonds. Items included in the measure include $1.1 million road improvements, $817,”300 for park improvements; and $480,”000 for an expansion of the Senior Center.
