Juliet Martone of Plainsboro had her book review, “Chasing Vermeer,” printed in Stone Soup Magazine’s September/October issue. The publication is written by children, for children.

She submitted the piece close to two years ago, when she was eight years-old. She was 10 in August and is a fifth grade student at Millstone River School. “Chasing Vermeer” by Blue Balliett, is a book written for ages 8 to 12, called the DaVinci Code for kids.##M:[more]##

This past summer Juliet appeared as a supernumerary in New Jersey Opera Festival’s “The Marriage of Figaro.” She studies violin, piano, and ballet.

Her parents, Bob and Valerie, met as undergraduates at SUNY Albany. Co-authors of two books about Renaissance literature, they have more book projects on the back burner.

Bob is a neurobiologist and biochemist with Wyeth Research in Monmouth Junction. Valerie, a substitute teacher with the West Windsor-Plainsboro school district, is studying for her certificate in elementary education. She has a master’s degree from Columbia University in medieval renaissance studies and worked in publishing and free lance writing in the past.
