Manikandan for School Board

I have served on the WW-P School Board for four years. The usual question people ask any candidate is why are you running? Consider the following facts:

– The board recently lost two of its most experienced members, due to retirement.

– The majority of the current board members have two or fewer years of experience being on the board.

– The Superintendent and several other administrators are new to their roles.

Given my experience, I feel it is important for me to be a candidate for school board from Plainsboro.

My reelection will provide a right balance of experience and fresh perspective on the board. I feel that being the third most experienced member on the board will be valuable to ensure successful continuation of all initiatives. I have served on all three board committees — finance, curriculum, and administration and facilities. That gives me a broad perspective on all district initiatives. I have also served on the negotiation committee during tough financial times for the district. Our committee was able to negotiate a fair contract for both the taxpayers and our employees.

As an incumbent board member I take pride in the success we have achieved as a school district. The success was achieved in the face of some difficult challenges. If re-elected I will continue to work hard to ensure similar success in future.
