Joey’s Little Angels Toy Drive set for Nov. 30

Local non-profit Joey’s Little Angels’ fourth annual holiday Toy Drive will be held at the Mercer Oaks Country Club on Nov. 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m .

Hamilton residents James and Nicole Angiolino founded Joey’s Little Angels four years ago in memory of their son Joey, who died of a rare genetic disease called Hurler’s Syndrome at 15 months old. Their mission is to provide financial and emotional support for families with a child undergoing medical treatment. To date, Joey’s Little Angels has donated over $50,000 to the Duke Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Family Support Program and to individual families.

Joey’s Little Angels also organizes an annual Toy Drive during the holiday season. In the past three years, they have collected 1,119 toys, which were distributed to sick children at Duke University Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, RWJ New Brunswick and Capital Health Hospital.

This year, the Angiolinos are expecting 300 to 400 participants and a guest appearance from Santa.
