Princeton Public Library to host poetry reading Nov. 10

Poet Mark Doty will visit the Princeton Public Library to read from his work on Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. An open-mic session will follow.

Doty’s “Fire to Fire: New and Selected Poems” won the National Book Award for Poetry in 2008. The author of eight books of poems and four volumes of nonfiction prose, he’s received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. He is Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University, and lives in New York City.

Poets in the Library is co-sponsored by the library, Delaware Valley Poets and the U.S. 1 Poets’ Cooperative. All Princeton Public Library programs are free and open to the public. If programs require registration, preference is given to library cardholders. The physically challenged should contact the library at (609) 924-9529 48 hours before any program with questions about special accommodations.

The reading will be held in the fireplace area on the library’s second floor. The library is located in the Sands Library Building at 65 Witherspoon St. in Princeton.
