Trenton gymnast wins gold at Special Olympics competition

Trenton resident Hope Larkin won gold at the Special Olympics of New Jersey sectional competition in Eastampton May 4.

Larkin represented Lawrenceville-based The Schafer School of Gymnastics in her first competition.

She took first place in floor exercise, balance beam and vault. Larkin also won a silver medal in uneven bars.

Larkin earned the highest overall score in the eight-11 year old category.

She is set to advance to the Special Olympics Summer Games, scheduled for May 30 to June 1 at The Schafer School of Gymnastics.
