Princeton Ballet School to present The Sleeping Beauty

Princeton Ballet School is set to present The Sleeping Beauty as its annual spring production on May 17 at 2 and 7 p.m at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial.

The ballet is set to music by Tchaikovsky and was choreographed by Marius Petipa for the Russian Imperial Ballet in 1889.

This production will feature Petipa’s original choreography with addition choreography and staging by American Repertory Ballet Artistic Director Douglas Martin and others.

Over 300 students from Children’s Ballet 1 to Adult Open Enrollment will dance in this performance.

The matinee and evening casts differ.

Among local members of the cast are Lindsay Jorgensen of Lawrenceville and Kyryk Pavlovsky of Ewing who members of Princeton Ballet School’s Professional Training Program, the most advanced level of Princeton Ballet School meant for High School students. They will be playing Princess Florine, one of the bluebirds who attends Aurora and the Prince’s wedding and the role of the male bluebird respectively.

Patriots Theater at the War Memorial is located at 1 Memorial Drive, Trenton.
