Kelsey Theatre to celebrate holidays with four shows

Kelsey Theatre is set to present four special events for the holiday season.

Live performances, dance and a sing-along film are scheduled for December.

The month kicks off with a Kelsey holiday tradition, ’Twas The Night Before Christmas. The Kelsey Players are set to present a musical adaption of the poem by Clement Moore.

Performance are scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 6; 11 a.m., 2 and 4 p.m. Dec. 7; 2. and 4 p.m. Dec. 8. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students and children.

Kelsey Theatre becomes a movie house as Theater to Go leads Annie the Movie Sing-Along. Audience members are encouraged to dress up, join in the trivia and costume contests and sing along with the onscreen stars. Movie goers are set to receive a participation kit for the interactive screening.

Performances are set for 7 p.m. Dec. 13; 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 14. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $16 for students and children.

Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre is set to return to Kelsey Theatre for El Sueno: A Cultural Holiday Celebration. Set to live music, Aborada’s acclaimed professional dancers and young artists are set to perform gypsy flamenco, Spanish regional, and dances from various Latin American cultures. The company has built a following at Kelsey with its unique adaptation of the holiday classic The Nutcracker.

Performances are set for 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 15. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $14 for students and children.

Capping off the season is The New Jersey Youth Ballet presentation of its hour-long, fully narrated version of The Nutcracker. Dancers in full costume dance to Tchaikovsky’s score as they transport audiences to The Land of the Sweets.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 20, 1 and 4 p.m. Dec. 21 and 22. Tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for seniors, students and children.

Kelsey Theatre is an official drop-off site for the Marine’s Toys for Tots annual holiday drive. Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted through Sunday, Dec. 17.

Kelsey Theatre is located on the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
