When school is not in session, the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County offers single-day holiday camps.

The first holiday camps for this school year are scheduled for Oct. 14 (Columbus Day) and Oct. 25 (Staff Development Day) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, 212 Centre St., Trenton.

Activities include computer learning games, physical recreation, guest speakers and field trips.

During previous holiday camps, guest speakers from the Academy of Natural Sciences and the Philadelphia Zoo have traveled to the club to meet with the kids. Club members have traveled to the Funplex in Mount Laurel and the Benjamin Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on field trips.

Cost per child is $25 per day or $30 for both October holiday camps.

The Boys & Girls Club plans holiday camps in conjunction with the Trenton Public School calendar. The club also offers week-long camps during school breaks.

Pre-registration is required. Parents can obtain sign-up sheets at the Boys & Girls Club and at any of its school-based program sites.
