The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County recently received a $1,000 grant from local non-profit organization Shine and Inspire, Inc., based in Pennington. The gift was presented by Shine and Inspire’s Executive Director Carol Feldman and Vice President Michelle Davis-Korngut to Crisis Ministry staff members in support of the organization’s Housing Stability services.

Shine and Inspire’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for Mercer County residents through the charitable gifts of local businesses and community members. To accomplish this, the organization partners with The Crisis Ministry, which supports neighbors in achieving food, housing, and employment stability. According to Crisis Ministry case manager Elizabeth Wall, The Crisis Ministry will use the gift to purchase holiday baskets for families enrolled in its Housing Stability program.

Founded in 1980, the Crisis Ministry of Mercer County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that works with low-income Mercer County households. Along with food pantries and a community vegetable garden, it provides nutrition education through Rutgers Extension Service, health screenings through the Capital Health System Community Health Education Department and job training and work-ready mentoring in partnership with Mercer County and a variety of organizations.
