D&R Greenway Land Trust would like to invite the public to rock and roll at The Community Day Music Festival for the 125th anniversary of Hopewell Borough.

The festival will be held at St. Michaels Farm Preserve, Hopewell, Saturday, June 18, 4-11 p.m. Free family events, including children’s music and crafts, an Amazon bounce house, self-guided tours and nature events, will run until 7 p.m.

Food from local purveyors—including pizza, ice cream and desserts—will be available for purchase, and a beer garden for adults ages 21 and up will take place from 7-11 p.m. Funds raised will go toward Hopewell Borough 125th anniversary events and repainting the Hopewell Train Station.

Live music will be performed throughout the event. The music schedule is as follows: 4 p.m. Hopewell Valley Children’s Chorale; 4:15 p.m. Vox Central Jazz; 5 p.m. Gwynne Alden Band; 6 p.m. Castle Lane Band; 7 p.m. Thomas Wesley Stern; 8 p.m. Michael Falzarano Band; 9 p.m. Danielia Cotton; 10 to 11 p.m. Strange Rovers.

“St. Michaels Farm Preserve, at the edge of Hopewell Borough, is the perfect place to hold this event, with its 340 acres of beautiful fields, woods and nature trails and its important community history,” event coordinator Deb Stuhler said. “Families can kick back and relax, celebrating the borough’s heritage as well as the recent history of saving this magnificent property, keeping it as an important place where families can enjoy nature and the outdoors—and all while rocking out to some of the most legendary musicians of the region.”

Preserved in 2010 through a community-wide effort, St. Michaels Farm Preserve was once the site of an orphanage operated by the Catholic Diocese of Trenton. Part preserved farmland and part preserved for recreational use, St. Michaels is home to nearly 100 bird species, including 11 species of warbler, the Indigo bunting, rose-breasted grosbeak and scarlet tanager.
