AARP Smart Driver Course set for April 3

Hopewell Valley Senior Services is set to offer an AARP Smart Driver Course.

The driving class is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 3 at the Hopewell Valley Municipal Building, 201 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville.

The Smart Driver Course is the nation’s first classroom refresher course designed for drivers 50 and older.

Graduates receive a certificate of completion that entitles them to a reduction in their auto insurance premiums in New Jersey. Participants must attend the whole day to complete the course.

The course is open to drivers of all ages.

The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Participants must bring a check made out to AARP or cash on the day of the class.

This course is co-sponsored by Senior Services and the Hopewell Valley YMCA.

In addition to the driving course, Senior Services is set to host a presentation by Hopewell Valley Regional School District superintendent, Dr. Tom Smith

The presentation is scheduled for 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center, 395 Reading St., Pennington.

Smith is set to discuss projected changes to the district’s enrollment numbers in the next few years and how this will affect the community.

All ages are welcome. No registration required.
