Steinert High School Robotics program is set to host its annual First Lego League tournament.

Steinert Slam FLL robotics competition is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23.

For the last 5 years, Steinert High School has hosted this regional FLL tournament. About 24 teams from New Jersey are set to participate. Each team consists of no more than 10 players.

FLL is a program for fourth through eighth grade students that introduces them to real-world engineering challenges by building Lego-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface.

This year’s tournament theme is Nature’s Fury and asks participants to think about preparation and rebuilding after natural disasters. The FLL challenge consists of three parts; the robot game, the project and core values

Steinert’s robotics program is led by teacher Dave Kohler and the Steinert Robotics club FRC team 2180 Zero Gravity.
