Hamilton resident Kelly (Rouba) Boyd has been named Mrs. Mercer County and is now set to compete for the title of Mrs. New Jersey on Saturday, April 9, 2016. The competition is a preliminary to the Mrs. America pageant and will take place at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino located at 350 Trolley Line Boulevard in Mashantucket, CT beginning at 5 p.m.

Boyd is married to Matthew Boyd, a Sergeant with the NJ Department of Corrections, and has five year old twin step-sons, Evan and Wyatt. She works full-time for IEM and serves as the Access and Functional Needs Planner at the NJ Office of Emergency Management. She is also a freelance writer and public relations consultant.

Outside of work, Boyd serves as Chair of Hamilton Township’s Special Needs Advisory Commission and as 2nd Vice President of the Arthritis National Research Foundation’s Board of Directors, which named their annual $100,000 grant called the Kelly Award for Juvenile Arthritis Research after her.

Boyd previously held the title of Ms. Wheelchair New Jersey in 2007. She hopes to bring a new perspective to the Mrs. New Jersey pageant and show that women of all abilities can compete successfully.
