Hamilton Pop Warner football player Andrew Layton was named a First Team All American Scholar.

The Reynolds Middle School student was one of 280 players nationwide to receive this honor. Pop Warner scholars celebrated their First Team All American Recipients at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in Orlando, Fla., this month.

To be considered for All-American status, the player must be in fifth grade or higher, have at least a 96 percent grade point average and participate in multiple community service programs. More than 425,000 kids participated in Pop Warner with just 8,900 eligible for consideration as All American Team Members in four levels of achievement.

Layton is a member of the Hamilton Revolution, the undefeated Burlington County Pee Wee Division championship team. He joined other Hamilton Revolution teammates at the Eastern Region Scholar Awards in March.

Layton was recognized for maintaining his academic standings while participating in the school band, school jazz band, church ministries, youth civic services and several year-round sports programs.
