Intersections International is set to host a Veteran-Civilian Dialogue on July 3.

Warriors and citizens whose families don’t include recent veterans or active military often live in parallel in the U.S., without much interaction between them. Intersections hopes their dialogues offer veterans and civilians the opportunity learn from and support each other.

Intersections developed VCD in 2008. It is a form of community building and social healing focused on addressing the cost of conflict in society and providing tools for reconciliation and healing.

VCD is a live event that brings veterans and civilians together for facilitated conversations about the impact of war upon both groups.

Intersections works with people and communities in conflict to promote peace, justice and reconciliation. In addition to VCD, the organization works in areas of LGBT justice, international peacemaking, power and values and the arts.

Veteran-Civilian Dialogue is scheduled for 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Branch of Mercer County Library, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence.
