In a ceremony attended by Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh, Township fire, rescue squad, and police personnel, as well as Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh and the National park Service representatives, the Twin “W” First Aid Squad on March 22 donated an ambulance to the Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area.

“When we saw the urgent message sent out by the state regarding the urgent need for an ambulance at Sandy Hook, we responded. A 16-foot tidal surge had struck them [during Hurricane Sandy], rendering their emergency vehicles unusable,” explained Twin W Chief Michael Leahy.

In addition to donating the ambulance, Twin W is also donating a stair chair, which allows patients to be transported without a stretcher.
