When disaster strikes West Windsor, 28 area residents will be ready to provide emergency services as recent graduates of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).##M:[more]##

The training is conducted to integrate CERT members into the emergency response capability for the area. If the community’s professional response is delayed or overwhelmed during emergencies, CERT members can help save and sustain lives until help arrives.

They have been taught to control triage by performing head-to-toe assessments, set up a treatment area, and employ basic treatments for various wounds. The graduates were also taught about search and rescue, debris removal, and basic fire suppression strategies.

The new graduates include Sharon Chapman, Aster Gebru-Debebe, Avinash Delory, Kashmiri Delory, Edward F. Durner Jr., Samuel Garcia, Chakravarti Geeta, Andrew C. Martin, and Satish Juneja.

Also, Margaret Spells, Ernest W. Barany, Tom Bracke, Larry Berrill, Kathleen M. Burek, Charles D. Fischer, Gloria L. Kutch, Tim Layen, and Alice Lu.

Also, Kilvert E. Madden, Willie James Mack, Bryn V. Mulliga, Radhey S. Nagpal, John Parente, Sangita Patankar, Ashish Shah, Joginder P. Verma, James Warney, and Janet Harter.

West Windsor Police Department instructors included officers Sam Dyson and Frank Caponi, along with Tom Moody and Edy, from the K9 unit. West Windsor Emergency Services instructors included Stephen McDermott, Shannon Pope, Cheryl Willois, Joe Griggins, and Brian Magnim.

The instructors included Dominick Critelli, DOT Security; Michele Madiou, Catholic Charities; and Doreen Clegg, Mercer County CERT coordinator.
