Princeton Academy of Martial Arts celebrates its 25-year anniversary on Saturday, February 4, with an open house at 1 p.m. The event features ongoing adult and children’s martial arts demonstrations from around the globe including Jeet Kun Do, Indonesian Pentjak Silat, Muay Thai boxing, Filipino Kali/Eskrima, Boxe Francais Savate, and mixed martial arts. Meet Rick Tucci and his trained staff of instructors. There are refreshments, coupons for free classes, and prizes. There is also a women’s self-defense workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. All are free.

Tucci, founder and head instructor, founded PAMA in 1987. He has taught a variety of martial arts since 1978. Tucci has been featured in publications, television shows, including a spotlight on the Learning Channel, and video productions viewed nationally and internationally. Known as dynamic instructor, Tucci has taught seminars throughout the United States and Europe in such countries as Belgium, England, France, Sweden, and Switzerland.

PAMA offers a curriculum with a wide range of martial arts systems and provides long-range potential for developing both the physical and mental attributes associated with martial arts training, such as coordination, balance, agility, focus, confidence, power, stamina, and weight loss. Individuals from age 6, with or without previous martial arts experience, come to this location to learn to defend themselves, have a great workout, have fun, and ultimately improve as individuals.

Adult students range in age from 18 to 64 — with many traveling more than one hour to develop skills in mind and body training. “PAMA has attracted people with a wide range of backgrounds from college students, surgeons, doctors, homemakers, lawyers, craftsmen, cooperate heads, and law enforcement,” says Tucci. “There are also accidental martial artists who start out as fitness enthusiasts and become hooked on this life-changing path.”
