The Stony Brook bridge on Route 206 in Princeton will reopen this afternoon, one day ahead of schedule.
Officials will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the historic bridge’s reopening on Thursday, Nov. 2 before removing the detour barricades. Traffic will reopen on Route 206 in time for this evening’s rush hour commute.
The historic bridge has been closed for four months as construction crews worked to restore the bridge. The bridge suffered a partial parapet collapse in 2016 was closed for emergency repairs.
The stone arch bridge over the Stony Brook, built in 1792, is the oldest bridge in the state.
