Adam Racer Schuit received the Shofar Award in recognition of his service to Jewish Boy Scouting. Schuit, who is the youngest recipient of the award in the New York-New Jersey area, also received the Boy Scouts of America Central New Jersey Council’s president’s award. He also was the first place recipient of Boy Scout of American’s Frank L. Weil Memorial Eagle Scout Scholarship.##M:[more]##

A graduating senior at High School North, he will be attending Cornell University in the fall. A varsity pitcher for the school’s baseball team, he is a member of the National Honor Society and captain of the swim team. A two-time recipient of awards from the Princeton Prize in Race Relations committee, he donated his $500 award to finance the ecumenical Central New Jersey Ten Commandments Hike.
