When “Oliver!” opens at Kelsey Theater on Friday, November 19, the West Windsor and Plainsboro involvement will be apparent with the opening notes. The title role of Oliver is being played by Jordan Carroll, a fifth grade student at Village School. Kyla Mostello, a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, plays the role of Nancy. Drew Nelson, a third grade student at Wicoff School, and Alexander DeSimine of West Windsor, are in the ensemble.

Shannon Ferrara, a music teacher at Grover Middle School, is the music director. Her husband Frank, a former Plainsboro resident, is the director. Pam Pisani of Plainsboro is the choreographer. If you go opening night, you can meet them all at the reception following the performance.

Oliver! is the musical tale of a young orphan’s struggle for survival on the streets of London based on Charles Dickens classic novel. After delivering the fateful words, “Please sir I want some more,” Oliver is swept into the underbelly of London, where he is taken in by a gang of thieves and scoundrels.

Oliver!, Kelsey Theater, Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, 609-584-9444. Through November 28. $15, adults; $12, seniors; and $10 for students and children. 8 p.m.
