Princeton Sound Kitchen is set to present a free concert featuring work by Princeton University professors.
In addition to works by Princeton professors Barbara White and Steven Mackey, the concert features music by Stephen Hartke, Elena Ruehr, and Dan Coleman
The program is set to include White’s Before I was released I was in many things, Hartke’s Netsuke, Ruehr’s Rumengling, Coleman’s Sad and Ancient Phrases, and Mackey’s Sonata for Violin and Piano
Performers are violinist Jennifer Frautschi and pianist John Blacklow.
Princeton Sound Kitchen provides a forum for Princeton composers to realize their musical visions on stage. Each season the next generation of the composers, students in Princeton’s Ph.D. Program in Composition, create acoustic, electronic, improvised and theatrical works, bringing them to life in collaboration with today’s leading performers of contemporary music.
The performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. March 4 at the university’s Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall.
