In conjunction with this year’s science-themed summer reading program, Princeton Public Library is set to host several science events for children.
Piccirillo Sciencetelling is set to present Potions 2 p.m. July 16. The group uses science experiments with dry ice and imagination to tell the story of a hidden underground laboratory and the ferocious guard determined to protect its mysteries forever. The story includes lessons on the concept of matter, its three states and how to change it from one state to another.
Sweet Science: Experiment with Candy is scheduled for 4 p.m. July 21. Participants age five and older will test, soak, stretch, dissolve, smash – and maybe even taste – candy to learn more about science and the world around them.
The Science of Giant Animals is scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 6. Bill Bosenberg of Snakes-n-Scales is set to return to the library with some giant animals. He plans to talk about animals’ lives in the wild, their habits and habitats, their relationships with humans and more.
Events are set to take place in the library’s reading room, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
