A team of assessors from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Sunday conducted an inspection of all aspects of the Princeton Police Department policies and procedures, management, operations and support services on January 26.

The Princeton Police Department was found to have complied with 100 standards and was awarded accredited status by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police on March 20.

Accreditation is valid for a three-year period during which time the agency must submit annual reports attesting to their continued compliance with those standards under which it was initially accredited.
